The Restaurant Fischerstube is a cozy traditional brewery restaurant located in the heart of the old town of lower Basel (Kleinbasel) - just a few meters away from the River Rhine. From the restaurant you can watch the brewers at work in the In-house brewery while enjoying a home made Ueli-beer (Ueli Bier) fresh from the barrel.

"love this place, the best bar in Basel for proper beer. Good choice of beers and the food is great too! Not to be missed!"(source: FB 20.6.2014)
"Probably the most important place to go in Basel, since it is the only brewpub. 4 beers on tap and a seasonal bottled. Draft beer (Ueli Bier) can be had in 10 cl. glasses. Very traditional decoration with huge light wooden tables sorounded with wooden benches and chairs on a stone floor. Service very helpful..." (source: http://www.ratebeer.com)
"This is what I will call a real “Brauhaus“ with wooden tables and benches. Traditional german style food and beers. The brewing plant is in the basement. We did eat their local smokes wurst with sauerkraut .. very tasty. They serve samples of the beers on tap. Friendly staff." (source: http://www.ratebeer.com)
"Always a favourite
Fischerstube is a great spot and always a favourite with its homemade beer. The food is hearty and Swiss and in summertime they have a lovely little roof terrace, accessible from the back of the restaurant, which gets the sun all day." (source: http://www.tripadvisor.de)
"I've been to this restaurant twice. The first time it was packed inside, and we ended up sharing a large table, very sociable. The second time it was empty inside, but because of the fine Spring weather the terrace was busy.
Both times I enjoyed the food, and the real pub-like atmosphere. The staff were friendly (not something to assume in Basel) and spoke English. The first time I had a sauerkraut (not everyone's choice, but one of my favourites) and it was just great. The second time I enjoyed a pork ragout. The prices are reasonable for the area - 34CHF for the ragout and a beer." (source: http://www.tripadvisor.de)
